Boots No-Sew Snuggle Pillow

Dora's lovable sidekick is so cute...don't you just want to squeeze him? Now you can with this cuddly pillow pet! Print and trace the templates to colored felt and glue the pieces together as instructed. Kids will actually look forward to bedtime!

Materials

• Boots no-sew pillow templates
• Two sheets blue felt (one for front body and tail, one sheet for back body and tail)
• Sheet purple felt
• Sheet red felt
• Sheet yellow felt
• Sheet pink felt
• Sheet white felt
• Sheet black felt
• Fabric glue
• Fabric scissors (adult use only)
• Fiberfill stuffing

Directions

1. Step 1: Getting Ready

   Print out the Boots no-sew pillow template, and then prepare your work area by gathering all the craft items you'll need for making your pillow creation.

2. Step 2: Cutting Out the Pieces

   A grown-up should cut out the template pieces and use them to cut out the pillow pieces from sheets of felt or fleece. TIPS FOR PARENTS: Either fleece or felt can be used to make these pillows, but felt works best, especially for the face details. Grown-ups should cut out the pieces, while assisting your preschool helper to assemble the face details using the photo for reference.

3. Step 3: Creating the Face

   Help your child apply the face details to the front pillow panel. A grown-up should apply the glue and place the face pieces on the body panel. Apply light pressure to ensure the pieces stay in place. Fabri-Tac and similar products are quick-drying. For Boots' eye reflections, either draw them with white fabric paint or cut out two tiny circles from white felt.

4. Step 4: Assembling the Pillow

   Once the face has been glued down, glue the belly piece on, then glue together the arms, legs, and the bottom of Boots' body. Use several beads of glue between the front and back panel edges and press them together until the glue takes (about a minute). Once the bottom of the body has dried, begin stuffing with batting and continue gluing the sides together. Try not to over-stuff the pillow, as this will make it difficult to glue the sides together. Keep gluing and pressing all the edges until the pillow is sealed on all sides.<br><br> Attach the boots and hands to the pillow and stuff each piece, then attach Boots' tail.<br><br> Once the pillow is dry, Boots is ready to explore with your Dora fan.
