Boots T-Shirt Poncho

Materials

• Iron-on transfer paper
• Boots decal
• Old white t-shirt
• Iron
• Scissors
• Paint & brushes or fabric markers

Directions

1. Step 1

   Place the non-reversed iron-on transfer paper into your ink-jet color printer as indicated on the package. Print the Boots decal. We recommend printing on regular paper first to make sure you've chosen the right design for the type of iron-on paper you have.<br><br> Set the printable aside for a few minutes to dry, and then cut out the image--cutting close to the colored edge of the image.

2. Step 2

   Preheat the iron and set down a towel, magazine, or large book to protect your countertop. Using an ironing board is not recommended.<br><br> Iron out all of the wrinkles in the t-shirt and begin ironing the decal, following the instructions included in the transfer paper pack.

3. Step 3

   Cut a V-shape slit at the shirt's opening. Cut off the sleeves, and cut fringes at the bottom of the shirt.

4. Step 4

   Set up a workstation for your child to paint the t-shirt, by covering the station with newspaper. Cover the decal with a sheet of paper and allow your child to paint around the paper.

5. Step 5

   Let the poncho to dry before your child puts it on. Poncho's are easy to make and fun to wear during Cinco De Mayo or any time of year!
