Here's a "cool" way to celebrate the Fourth of July!

Come on Diego's rescues every day on Nick Jr.

This craft requires extra parent involvement and a watchful eye, because it may require sharp tools or intricate handiwork.

You'll need to allow extra time for glue or paint to dry.

Create with us skills involve self-expression, experimentation, and imagination through visual arts (like painting and sculpting), dramatic play, cooking, and dance.

Materials

Diego July 4th Paddle Fan Template
Cardstock
Kids craft scissors
Red-and-white striped ribbon (OPTIONAL)
Craft glue
Kids paintbrush (OPTIONAL)
Acrylic paints in red or blue (OPTIONAL)
Decorative star-shaped craft sticks (or plain ones are fine, too)
Craft glue

Directions

Step 1
Print two copies of the fan shape from the Diego July 4th Paddle Fan Printable onto cardstock. Glue them back to back with craft glue.
Step 2
Print & cut out the Diego image. Let your child decide where she'd like to place Diego, cut where necessary and glue him to the fan.
Step 3
Cut a strip of the red-and-white ribbon and glue it to the fan. Or simply draw a few red strips on white paper, cut out one segment and glue to the fan.
Step 4 (OPTIONAL)
Paint the craft stick in red or blue and let dry.
Step 5
Glue the stick to the base of the paddle fan with craft glue. Let dry.
