Dora & Diego Tree Ornaments

Spread a little holiday cheer by hanging your child's handmade ornaments high on the tree this year!

Materials

• 8 craft sticks
• Green & brown markers or tempera paint
• Dora & Diego ornament template
• Scissors
• Glue
• 6-inch ribbon or string
• Sequins, ribbons, pipe cleaners (optional)

Directions

1. Step 1: Getting ready

   Help your child paint eight craft sticks-- six green and two brown. Allow time for the craft sticks to dry.

2. Step 2: Cutting out the pieces

   Print out the Dora & Diego template and cut out the individual pieces.

3. Step 3: Creating the tree

   Glue three of the craft sticks together into a triangle. Flip over the triangle and glue one brown craft stick down the center of the triangle--about a half inch should protude from the base of the triangle.<br><br> Glue a piece of string or ribbon to the back of the brown craft stick in a loop (this will be used for hanging).<br><br> Flip the craft sticks over to reveal a tree with a stump.<br><br> Repeat these steps with the remaining craft sticks.

4. Step 4: Decorating the ornament

   Once the tree crafts are dry, paste the Dora and Diego templates to the brown craft sticks then encourage your child to be creative while decorating the trees using ribbons, pipe cleaners, and sequins. We created a star and bows out of pipe cleaners!

5. Step 5: Hanging the ornament

   Once the ornaments are dry, you can hang it on your tree for all to see and admire!
