Dora's Fairy Princess Hat

Give your real-life princess a fairytale topper! Yellow and red foam and ribbons are the magic you'll need!

Materials

• 12- by 17-in. yellow and red/pink foam sheet
• Compass
• Scissors
• Double-sided tape
• Dora Princess Hat & Wand Template
• Glitter glue or glitter paint
• Blue ribbon
• Pushpin
• Elastic cord

Directions

1. Step 1

   On the 12- by 17-in. yellow foam sheet, draw an 11-inch quarter circle with a compass (or freehand). Cut out the quarter circle.

2. Step 2

   Apply double-sided tape along one of the straight edges. Roll up the quarter circle to form a cone and place the untaped edge over the taped edge. Trim where necessary. Glue two pieces of colorful ribbons to the tip of the hat, if desired. Set aside.

3. Step 3

   Print and cut out the flower shape. Trace it to red/pink foam to create the flower that goes on the front of Dora's princess hat. Referring to the flower image, draw the petal lines with glitter glue or glitter paint. Save time! Simply cut out the colored paper flower image and glue it to the hat.

4. Step 4

   Measure the length that's needed to go around the hat, depending on how high or how low you want the flower to be, and cut a piece of blue ribbon that length. Glue the ribbon to the back of the flower, wrap it around the hat, and glue the ribbon ends together.

5. Step 5

   Use a pushpin to poke a hole on either side of the hat. Cut a piece of elastic cord, thread it through one hole from the hat's outside, and knot on the inside. Do the same on the other side.

6. Step 6

   With the hat, the bracelet, and Dora's wand all in place, your little princess is ready to be the heroine of Dora's fairy tale adventure story!
