Dora's Hang-Up Hamper

Turn an ordinary t-shirt into a handy cleanup helper by making this kids laundry hamper. Hang it on a door handle in your kid's room for easy access.

Materials

• Dora's Hang-Up Hamper iron-on
• Iron-on transfer paper for dark clothing (non-reversed)
• Pink t-shirt (large or extra-large)
• Fabric glue (waterproof)
• Scissors
• Fabric paint or fabric markers
• Hanger

Directions

1. Step 1

   Print out Dora's Hang-Up Hamper iron-on onto iron-on transfer paper designed for dark clothing. (Transfer paper for light-colored clothing requires the iron-on image to be reversed and will not work with this craft.) <br /><br /> Cut out the iron-on image and iron it on to the center of the pink t-shirt using the transfer paper's instructions.

2. Step 2

   Apply fabric glue liberally inside the bottom hem of the shirt to seal the bottom shut. <br /><br /> Repeat along each shirt sleeve to seal them shut as well.

3. Step 3

   Use the scissors to cut a 3-inch slit down the front of the shirt from the center of the collar. This will help provide a wider opening for your child's dirty clothes. <br /><br /> Apply fabric glue to each side of the slit and fold the corners back to create a v-neck opening.

4. Step 4

   Use fabric paint or fabric markers to draw on Dora's backpack straps as shown in the picture. <br /><br /> Let your child decorate the rest of the t-shirt using the fabric paint or markers. If you child needs some prompting, you could encourage them to draw a garden or their favorite outfit.

5. Step 5

   Carefully insert a hanger into the top of the shirt. Now hang it in your child's bedroom on a door handle or in the closet for easy access.
