Fresh Beats Messenger Bag

Transform envelopes and duct tape into a nifty backpack that on-the-go kids can actually stuff and strap on.

Materials

• Kiki Messenger Bag Decal
• Marina Messenger Bag Decal
• Twist Messenger Bag Decal
• Shout Messenger Bag Decal
• 2 bubble mailer envelopes
• Scissors
• Duct tape (we used blue & red)
• Clear packaging tape
• Sticky back velcro (optional)

Directions

1. Step 1

   Select and print out a Fresh Beats messenger bag decal of your child's choice, and cut where indicated.

2. Step 2

   Seal both messenger bags shut. Cut the side of one of the envelopes off to make an opening. Place the cut bag horizontally on a flat surface, and place the other envelope vertically on top of it about 3 inches down. The vertical envelope should be placed in the center of the horizontal envelope, and then secured on top of it with tape.

3. Step 3

   Once the envelopes are secured together, fold the vertical envelope down to form the flap. Kids can then help with applying the duct tape all around the bag and flap (but not taping the two together).

4. Step 4

   To make the straps for the bag, cut two strips of duct tape (about 12 inches long), and tape them together (sticky side together). Attach the straps to the bag using duct tape.

5. Step 5

   Affix the decal to the flap of the bag using clear packaging tape.

6. Step 6

   Lift the flap of the bag and attach one velcro strip to the flap and another on the bag. The velcro strips should align so that they attach on to one another to keep the bag closed.<br><br> The messenger back is fully functional! Kids can wear it and pack and carry their personal stuff in it.
