Jack Easter Egg

With its oval shape, a pale blue plastic egg makes a perfect beginning for Jack's joyful likeness.

Materials

• Pale blue plastic jumbo egg
• Jack Egg Template
• Felt scraps in black, pale blue, medium blue and bright green
• Craft glue
• Black marker
• Stapler (for parents only)
• Red or purple construction paper

Directions

1. Step 1

   Print the Jack Egg Template and cut out the pieces. Trace the ear pieces onto pale and medium blue felt, the hair piece onto green felt, and the nose and mouth onto black felt. Cut out the felt pieces.

2. Step 2

   Glue the nose near the pointy end of the egg. Then glue the mouth just below it. With the marker, draw on the eyes.

3. Step 3

   Separate the two pieces of the plastic egg. Slip the ears and hair in between the pieces and then put the egg back together. (Squeezing the egg pieces together will keep the felt pieces intact.

4. Step 4

   To create the stand, cut a 2- by 8-inch strip of red/purple construction paper. Fold it in half lengthwise. Coil into a ring, overlapping the ends. Staple in place.
