Materials

Directions

  1. Step 1

Print the puppet theater templates on card stock or heavy weight paper and help your child cut out the pieces.

  2. Step 2

Put together the house by folding the tabs and gluing the sides to the tabs. Fold the roof template and glue to the top of the house. Fold the roof details and glue to the top of the roof as shown in photo.

Attach the sewing needles where indicated.

  3. Step 3

Fold the smaller house template tabs (front and back templates), and paste the side with attached roof template, to the left side of it (front of the house facing you). Attach the other side to the larger house created in step 2.

  4. Step 4

Open one end of the cereal box and cut along the side of the box until the box is split in half but not detached. It should resemble a shoebox with the flap opened. Attach both boxes together to create a larger play area for the puppet theater. Cover the ground with the grass printables and the raised portion of the box with the background printables. Fold the trees and other accessories, and glue inside the box where desired.

  5. Step 5

Set the puppet theater aside to dry, and cut out each of the characters. Create the base of the puppet by folding up the solid black line, then fold the character down the center, apply glue to one side and firmly press both sides together. This will create a double-sided puppet that stands (glue should not be applied to the base of the puppet). When the puppets dry, your child's magical adventure can begin!
