Olivia Bath Mitt

It's bath time and Olivia would like to join in! This bath mitt is easy to sew by hand or machine. Start with a pink bath mitt and pink washcloth. Then use felt for the eyes, nostrils, and mouth.

Materials

• Pink washcloth
• Printable Olivia Bath Mitt Templates
• Needle and pink thread
• Pink store-bought bath mitt
• Fabric scissors
• Brown and black felt scraps (for eyes and mouth)
• Fabric glue

Directions

1. Step 1

   To make the ears from the pink washcloth, use the printable templates to cut out four ear shapes. Stack one ear piece on top of another with the edges aligned. With the needle and thread, backstitch most---but not all the way--around the perimeter. <br /><br /> Turn the ear right-side out. Whipstitch the ear piece closed. Repeat with second ear piece.

2. Step 2

   Position the ears on the top of the mitt, referring to the photo as a guide. Stitch them in place along their bottom edges only.

3. Step 3

   Using the nose template as a guide, cut out two nose pieces. Stack them, making sure the edges are aligned. Stitch along two sides only. Turn the nose inside out. Whipstitch the final edge of the nose. Stitch the nose onto the mitt.

4. Step 4

   Cut out the eyes, nostril, and mouth pieces. Secure them to the mitt with fabric glue.
