You can encourage your kids to create their own Numberland adventure when you craft this simple shoebox castle using our templates and a few recyclables. Every castle has a king, so when this craft is complete, be sure to print the King of Numbers and other character puppets; including Milli, Geo, Bot and all their new Numberland friends!
Catch the friends weekdays on Nick

Print all of the castle templates, decorations and Numberland characters, and be sure to keep them in separate piles.
Start creating the castle by cutting out the castle templates and pasting it onto the shoe box. The shoe box opening should be faced down on the surface with the lid opened (see photo for reference). Trim the template to fit it on the box.

Cover the top of the box with the bricks template. Add the top brick accent to the castle, by simply folding the bottom tab back and gluing it onto the top of the box (see photo for reference).
Cut the lower tier templates out and wrap the tower printables (1 through 4) around the toilet tissue rolls. Create the steeples for the towers by folding the circular templates into cone shapes and affixing them to the tops of the toilet tissue rolls. Fold the number flags down the center, apply glue and slide the toothpicks in between, and then stick the flags into the top of the steeples.

Paste the door onto the center of the shoe box and then glue the towers onto the shoe box (see photo for reference). Decorate castle with windows.
Cut the upper tier templates out and follow the same directions included in Step 3. In addition, cover the paper towel roll with the brick template included with the upper tier printables.

To create the number 8 portion of the castle, attach the two tabbed printables together, then fold along the solid lines until a box shape forms. Apply glue to tabs. Stick the number three flag into the box as shown in photo.

Affix the upper tier towers to the top of the shoe box with glue (see photo for reference).
Once the castle is complete, create the foreground by cutting out the castle decoration templates. Paste the number road printable to the top of the box lid (see photo for reference). Decorate the lid with the number trees and mushrooms. To create, simply fold back the tabs as indicated on the printable.
Set the castle aside to dry, and cut out each of the characters. Create the base of the puppet by folding up the solid black line, then fold the character down the center, apply glue to one side and firmly press both sides together. This will create a double-sided puppet that stands (glue should not be applied to the base of the puppet).

When the puppets dry, your child's journey through Numberland can begin!
