The clocks ticks each and every day on Nick Jr.

Print the Pufferty templates on card stock or heavy weight paper for durability. Help kids cut the pieces out.
Start assembling the train's carts by folding along the solid lines until a box shape is formed. Glue or tape the tabs to secure the shape. Punch holes where indicated and connect the wheels to the cart using the brass fasteners (see photo for reference).

Fold the tail template in half and glue the back sides together to form one tail. Glue the tabs into the inside of the back cart (see photo for reference). Affix the feet to the sides of the cart.
Create the head of the train by attaching Pufferty's face to the narrower side of the recycled box. Attach Pufferty's ears to the wider sides of the box. Punch holes in the box and insert the wheels with brass fasteners (see photo for reference).

OPTIONAL: We wrapped the box with white construction paper prior to attaching the templates.

Affix the feet to the front of the box.
Connect the carts by punching a hole in the front and back of the box and in the carts where indicated. See photo to determine the order of the carts. Thread the yarn or string through the holes, tying knots after entering each hole. Be sure to use a long string so kids can pull the train around.
Create the base of the puppet by folding up the solid black line, then fold the character down the center, apply glue to one side and firmly press both sides together. This will create a double-sided puppet that stands (glue should not be applied to the base of the puppet).

When the puppets dry, Pufferty can take Tommy and Tallulah on a ride!
