Tyrone Decorative Egg

What? A moose from an egg? Sure, it's easy. All you need is a plastic orange egg and colored paper or felt.

Materials

• Large plastic orange egg, about 3 1/2 inches tall
• Self-adhesive wiggly eyes (or eyes you draw and then cut out)
• Fine black marker
• Tyrone Egg Template
• Orange felt or construction paper
• Scissors
• Red felt or construction paper
• Craft glue
• Yellow construction paper
• Blue craft foam or construction paper
• Stapler or clear adhesive tape

Directions

1. Step 1: For the Face

   Create the egg with its pointy part facing down. Have kids press on the wiggly eyes, just above the egg's seam. With the black marker draw the nostrils and mouth.

2. Step 2: For the Ears

   Using the Tyrone egg template, cut out two ear shapes from orange felt. Glue to the top of the egg.

3. Step 3: For the Hair

   Using the template, cut the hair from red felt. Glue the hair to the top of the egg.

4. Step 4: For the Antlers

   Using the template, cut two antlers from the yellow construction paper. Glue them to the back of the egg, behind the ears.

5. Step 5: For the Turtleneck

   From blue craft foam or construction paper, cut out a 1/2-inch-wide by 5-inch-long strip. Curl into a circle and secure with a stapler or clear adhesive tape. Set Tyrone in the turtleneck, tilting his head back slightly at an angle.
