Umizoomi Great Shape Race Board Game

The race to the top of Shape Mountain is on and UmiFriends join Team Umizoomi on the ride! Match shapes, count spaces, and watch out for Dump Truck, who will try to stop players from getting to the top!

Materials

• Board Game Templates
• Scissors
• Glue or tape

Directions

1. Step 1: Printing & Creating the Game Board

   Print all the templates on cardstock paper, then laminate for added durability, or glue them onto a piece of cardboard such as a cereal box. Each template comes with its own set of simple instructions. Apply glue to the tabs and piece the game board together.

2. Step 2: Setting Up the Game Cards

   Print 12 copies of the game cards. Print the wild cards only once (Dump Truck and the Lizard cards). <br><br> To create the game cards, cut along the dotted lines surrounding the cards, fold where indicated, apply glue in between the cards and press firmly. Once dry, separate the cards by cutting along the inner lines.

3. Step 3: Making the Game Pieces

   Cut the pieces along the dotted lines. Fold up along the solid line at the base of each character. Fold the character in half to create a double-sided game piece, apply glue, and firmly press both sides together. Be careful not to apply glue to the base.

4. Step 4: Playing the Game

   Now you can begin playing the game! For a multi-player game, allow the youngest player to go first, or shuffle the game cards and the player who picks a Lizard card goes first.<br><br> Each player selects a character and places it on the start position. Players pick a card from the deck and move their pieces according to the picture on the card; matching the shape on the card to the one nearest to their game piece, moving the piece forward.<br><br> If a player plucks a Dump Truck card, they lose a turn. If they pluck a Lizard card from the deck, they move forward to the Lizard pictured closest to their game piece. Once there, the game piece can cross the bridge with arrows displayed on it. Once at the end of the board game, the first player to get to the last shape or land on the Lizard wins! Ready to play? Let's go!
