Materials

Directions

  1. Step 1

Print and cut out the pencil topper templates.

  2. Step 2

For each character, trace the body or head shape twice onto felt of the designated color, once with the shape flipped. Cut out both pieces from felt--they are the front and back of the pencil topper.

  3. Step 3

For Wubbzy only: Before you glue the front and back of the Wubbzy shapes together, insert Wubbzy's tail in between. Simply glue one end of the yellow pipe cleaner to the center of the bottom edge of one of the felt layers. Allow the glue to dry.

  4. Step 4

Glue the front and back of each character together ONLY along the edges, leaving the bottom edge unglued. Make sure the center area is unglued and wide enough for the pencil to slip inside.

  5. Step 5

Using the finished pencil topper images on the printable template as a guide, draw the characters' facial features with fabric paint. Let dry.

  6. Step 6

For Wubbzy only: Once you have inserted the pencil into the Wubbzy pencil topper, coil the rest of the pipe cleaner around the pencil several times. Cut it wherever you desire.

Tip: In order to hide the appearance of the tracing line, flip both the front and back felt cutouts before you glue them together, so the sides with tracing lines will face each other and be sealed in the middle.
