advertisementWhat the Show's About
Dan Henderson is an ordinary 10-year-old boy who lives with his mom and little brother, Trek.
He takes care of his puppy Doug, really likes pizza, and has a bit of a dinosaur obsession.
Okay, maybe he's not entirely ordinary.
Dan eats, sleeps, and breathes dinosaurs. His nickname is "Dino Dan," and he dreams of
being a paleontologist one day. He's an expert in all things Triassic, Jurassic, and
Cretaceous and has a funny way of seeing dinosaurs in any situation. Okay, maybe
dinosaur obsession is putting it mildly.
The way Dan tells it, it's a T. rex that pulls Santa's sleigh, there's a Compsognathus
living under his bed, and it's not the Big Bad Wolf, it's the Big Bad Spinosaurus.
Some may say that Dan has an active imagination, but they don't know what Dino
Dan knows. . . . Dinosaurs are EVERYWHERE. And for Dan, and the kids watching at
home, they really are. On Dino Dan, dinosaurs lurk around every corner, they're
behind every mystery, they fuel every adventure, and they help answer questions.
Okay, they don't actually answer questions but they do provide Dan with access to
evidence that no one else has. Whenever Dino Dan has a question about dinosaurs, he goes straight to the source to find the answer. Dan's scientific method requires him to test his theories with the dinosaurs themselves, and he works with their animal instincts to get them to help.
But not only is Dino Dan an expert on dinosaurs, he's also an expert in getting his
friends and classmates pulled into his adventures.
Dan's class is filled with a motley crew of 10-year-olds, who are taught by a motley-er
crew of teachers. Every student and teacher is affected, at one time or another, by
Dino Dan's forays into dinosaur territory.
