dora pirate adventure

This DVD is best for preschoolers ages 3-5

advertisement
Dora and her pals are prepared to put on a play about pirates, but first they have to retrieve a treasure chest filled with costumes that the Pirate Piggies have taken to Treasure Island.

This double-length Dora episode offers twice as much exploring and skill building. Dora's fans will find many familiar features--including friends Backpack and Map, lots of viewer participation, songs, and new Spanish words when they join the intrepid explorer and her best friend Boots on their latest animated adventure.

For Babies 0-2?

MAYBE There's enough movement and music to keep even the youngest viewers enthralled, and Dora's enthusiasm is contagious. Toddlers will enjoy jumping across the rocks and helping Dora push the boat. For those who can't make it through the entire adventure, there are shorter episodes included in the bonus features.

FOR PRESCHOOLERS 3-5?

YES Preschoolers will have a blast shouting out words with Dora, telling her where to find things, and yelling at the Pirate Piggies to give back the treasure (a chest filled with costumes for a pirate play). Their favorite part is likely to be meeting the Singing Bridge, who sings songs like "Twinkle, twinkle, little star, how I wonder what you ate for breakfast." Parent tip: After your kids meet the Echo Bush, be prepared for your own words to come back to haunt you--again and again!

FOR KIDS 6-9?

MAYBE Even though kindergarteners and first graders may have already mastered some of the skills in the DVD--such as gross-motor skills--they'll still be intrigued by Dora's curiosity and will admire her fearlessness. They'll get caught up in the action and will enjoy learning new Spanish words, too. Girls especially will feel empowered by Dora's self-confidence, and they'll admire her take-charge approach to life. Those who grew up with Dora probably haven't completely outgrown the show yet, and they'll be proud to introduce their heroine to their younger siblings.
