advertisementHot showers are available within walking distance of most of the camps that take reservations. Flush toilets are available at those campgrounds, too. Stores and food service are available in Yosemite Valley (especially the Curry Village area) and in Tuolumne Meadows.
advertisementThere is an excellent visitor center that offers multiple daily showings of a film about the park's creation, a re-created Miwok Indian village, and many interpretive programs (check the schedule on arrival).
advertisementCommon birds include Stellar's jays, robins, Brewer's blackbirds, acorn woodpeckers, ravens, and black-headed grosbeaks. Typical wildlife includes deer, coyotes, bears (active mostly at night), squirrels, and chipmunks.
