This icing dries hard and shiny and the colors stay bright. Choose as many different food colorings as you desire. Use this recipe to decorate your Valentine Cookies.
1 cup confectioners' sugar
2 tsp. milk
2 tsp. light corn syrup
1/4 tsp. almond extract
Assorted food coloring
Step 1
In a small bowl, stir together confectioners' sugar and the milk until smooth. Add the corn syrup and almond extract and continue beating until the icing is smooth and glossy. (Kids can help!) If the icing is too thick, add just a bit more corn syrup.
Step 2
Divide the icing into separate bowls and add food colorings to each until you get the colors you desite. Dip cookies in the icing when cooled or paint on the icing using a brush.
