The story begins with our intrepid animal rescuer, Diego, giving a tour of his Rescue Center to his new young friends Rosita and Martín. All of a sudden, they hear a distress call. A mommy duck's baby is missing--only to be discovered in the same pond as a fierce crocodile. With typical ingenuity, Diego and his sister Alicia save the frightened little duck with a lasso and return it to its concerned mother.

Rosita and Martín are in awe of this rescue and demand that Diego tell them more about his encounters with his "fiercest" animals. In order to do so, they must enter Diego's Adventure Cave, which can only be opened with the secret password: Fierce Animals or Animales Feroces. Inside Diego shows his young friends videos of some of his greatest and most exciting adventures with wild animals.

With preschool-age-appropriate sensitivity Diego recalls his encounters with gorillas, a blue-ringed octopus, grizzly bears, hippos, lions, elephants, and finally a full-size jaguar. In each mini story, Diego and companions (Papi, Alicia, Rescue Pack) either help find a lost baby animal for its worried mother and then save it, or help an adult animal (a hippo stuck in mud or an blue-ringed octopus whose coral reef home has been destroyed) through some difficult situations.

Your little animal rescuer will be asked by Diego to help him by beating their chest like a gorilla, waving a glo-stick, stomping their feet like a hippo, or getting low and doing the Jaguar Crawl. And Diego of course adds to the flavor of the episode by throwing in a couple of his signature, catchy songs to delight and inform your child.

But in every adventure-packed story, Diego reveals how animals only become "fierce" when they're trying to protect their babies from danger. Otherwise they're to be admired and respected (at a distance).
