Age-By-Age Guide
Action Adventure | Fantasy/Sci-Fi
It's the year 2077, Earth has been evacuated, and drone repairman Jack Harper (Tom Cruise) finds himself on a mission to save mankind.

The fact that director Joseph Koskinski's only other contribution to cinema has been TRON: Legacy should give you an idea of what to expect in this epic (meaning long) sci-fi action film. Tweens are likely to want to see it because of the hype but this post-apocalyptic story is very loud and violent, with some nudity and profanity, including one big "f"-bomb. Be warned: the story is so confusing, the title is an accurate foreshadowing of the state of mind in which it will leave most viewers.

Tweens (10-12)
Maybe Between the violence, sex, and profanity, the movie straddles the line between PG-13 and R, making it inappropriate for younger tweens. It's got a ton of style but not a whole lot of substance, and it's hard to get a handle on exactly what's going on at any given point. Regardless, kids will ultimately get the message that it's important to retain our humanity and that love does conquer all.
