Help a very worthy cause and get some valuable bike and riding-toy lessons for your kids by joining up or organizing a Trike-A-Thon benefit in your community.
advertisementThe St. Jude Trike-A-Thon program is a great way to teach kids bike and riding-toy safety through connected learning at their schools using interactive activities and by actually practicing bike safety at the event. Nick Jr. believes, as St. Jude does, that instilling important safety habits at an early age is critical in helping to avoid biking accidents.
advertisementParents help their children gain sponsorship from friends, family, co-workers, fellow church members, or whomever. Usually, sponsors either donate a fixed-dollar amount per lap or make a flat-rate donation for the child to participate. Once the Trike-A-Thon is over, parents help collect donations from their sponsors or those that pledged and turn them into the school coordinator. Children who participate in the program learn bike and riding-toy safety, help St. Jude, earn fun prizes, and receive valuable additional lessons at an early age on how everyone can pitch in to take care of those in need and participate in a wonderful cause.

advertisementBikewell Bear®
Bikewell Bear® is a soft, cuddly bear with big eyes and a bright smile. Bikewell is a preschooler at Honeycomb School, where he is in Mrs. Huggins's class. When he is not at school, Bikewell loves to ride his tricycle using the very important riding-toy safety lessons he learned during the St. Jude Trike-A-Thon. He's a very smart bear who always wears his helmet when he rides, and he helps watch out for his good friend Pedals the Bunny®.
advertisementPedals the Bunny®
Pedals the Bunny® is an energetic bunny with a fluffy cottontail. She doesn't always look before she leaps, but she has a heart of gold and likes to learn while she plays at Honeycomb School. She loves to ride her tricycle with her good friend Bikewell Bear®. Bikewell and his teacher Mrs. Huggins both help Pedals practice the four most important lessons of riding-toy safety, so she can ride safely and happily with all her friends.
