Olivia is today's girl. She is a 6 and 3/4 year old dynamo who believes she can do anything and sees every day as an opportunity to try new things. Her vivid imagination takes her on a grand adventures, both real and fantasy, and like all children, her antics occasionally result in endearing misadventures.

Ian is Olivia's 4-year-old younger brother. He looks up to his big sister and is thrilled when she includes him in her schemes and play, though he can quickly turn into an annoying "little bother" when she doesn't. He is interested in space, dinosaurs, robots, and slurping spaghetti.

William in the baby of the family and does what most babies do: he sleeps, eats, cries, and is most often amazingly adorable.

A contemporary working Mom of three, Mother balances managing the family and running her own party planning business from home. She's supportive and loving, but no-nonsense--the glue that holds everyone together.

Dad is a warm, loving, encouraging and patient parent who is very connected to his kids. While he is occasionally absent minded, he never forgets to take time for family fun and to impart paternal wisdom to this kids in the way of "little talks" when needed.

Mrs. Hogenmuller, Olivia's teacher, is a dedicated educator, if a bit eccentric. She's an avid cat fancier and cowbell-playing virtuoso, with a penchant for the outdoors and a great enthusiasm for learning and life.

Julian is Olivia's best friend. At first, he seems an unlikely choice for her: he's shy, has terrible stage fright and is mainly an observer. But he's smart, with a self-deprecating sense of humor. Plus, he's always willing to go along with Olivia's ideas, if a bit reluctantly. He's the Watson to her Holmes!

Francine is Olivia's next door neighbor, and also her biggest rival. They basically define the term "frienemies": they're friends one day, enemies the next. Francine is a real rule follower who's always driven to do her absolute best--sometimes too driven.

Stylish and in her late-fifties, Grandma is filled with a sense of adventure and fun; it's easy to see where Olivia gets some of her more endearing and dramatic traits.

The devoted family dog, Perry loves to play with the kids, chase Edwin the family cat, and cause all kinds of havoc with the local critters--especially the squirrels.

Edwin, the languid and lethargic family cat, doesn't do much other than eat and sleep. Often in the way, he frequently has to be picked up and moved.
