MAKE THE BODY
Print the Foofa body template. Enlarge to desired size. Cut out the template.
Fold the pink fleece horizontally. Align the crotch of the body template on the fold, and pin in place. Cut around the template. You will now have two pieces that are identical. For the piece that you want to use for the front of the body, snip across the shoulder bands at the dotted lines.
Add Velcro tabs at the shoulders and along the sides (avoiding the arm openings). Set aside.
MAKE THE NECK PIECE
To create the neck piece, you'll cut a very large sideways oval and then snip into it making petal shapes. So, begin by cutting a very large oval from the white fleece. Gently fold it in half and cut a smaller oval inside for the neck. (Do not worry if this is quite small; you'll be snipping it open, necklace-style in the next step.)
Snip petal shapes around the oval leaving about 3/4 of an inch or more right around the neckline inside. With the oval sideways (picture it laying shoulder to shoulder), snip up the center back to the neck opening so that it can open like a necklace in the back.
From the thin cardboard, cut a series of petal shapes (they can approximate the petals; they needn't be perfect as they won't show) and glue them to the wrong sides of the petals. Let dry.
From the yellow fleece, cut an oval in the same shape as the neckline. Glue it onto the neckpiece, then snip an opening just as you did before, at the neckline. Add a Velcro tab to close it.
MAKE THE FLOWER TOPPER
From the white fleece, cut a very large daisy. Trace this shape onto thin cardboard. Cut it out.
With a needle and thread, stitch a ponytail hair tie to the back of the cardboard. You can add dabs of fabric glue to further secure. Let dry.
Add the white fleece flower to the face of the cardboard flower.
Cut two large circles the same size, one from yellow fleece and one from the cardboard. Glue them together, then glue these to the center of the flower. Let dry.
TIME TO GET DRESSED 1. Dress your child in the tights, then the ballet suit.
2. Have the child step into the Foofa suit, securing it at the shoulders with the Velcro tabs.
3. Stuff the body lightly at the front and back, and then close the Velcro closures.
4. Add the neck piece. Then, pull up your child's hair and secure with the flower topper.
FINISHING TOUCHES
Using the face paint, add eyelashes and a sideways oval nose. Pink cheeks look cute, too. For extra decorations, add little daisies to your little Fiona's hands and feet.
