Eyeballs, monster brains, goblin fingers, and witches toes are all in your kitchen! Or at least everything you need to create a creepy guessing game for your Halloween party can be found there. Just follow these simple steps to get your party started.

Parents Tip:
To empower young or especially skittish children--and to make the game less frightening--lift the tops off the boxes and show them what's inside before the game starts. Kids will get a kick out of knowing what's inside when everyone else doesn't!

Halloween Advice for Parents

What You Need
5 shoeboxes or other boxes
Scissors
Black craft paint
Paintbrushes
Grapes
Hot dogs
Bed sheet or Halloween tablecloth
Index cards
Black marker (to label index cards)
Cold cooked spaghetti
Baby carrot sticks
1/4 cup popcorn, unpopped

What You Do

Step 1
Cut a hole in the side of each shoebox large enough for an adult hand. (Large shoeboxes will work best.) Help kids paint the boxes with the black craft paint. Allow the boxes to dry at least one day in advance of the party.

Step 2
Before guests arrive, kids can help set up the boxes. Peel the grapes and cut the hot dogs into half-inch pieces. Place the items into small dishes or other small containers and set a dish into each of the boxes.

Step 3
Set the boxes on a table and drape with a sheet or tablecloth so the holes are still accessible. Place a folded index card in front of each box to label them:

The spaghetti is "Monster Brains."
The grapes are "Eerie Eyeballs."
The hot dog pieces are "Goblin Fingers."
The baby carrots are "Witches' Toes."
The popcorn kernels are "Skeleton Teeth."

Step 4
Invite your guests to reach into each of the boxes to feel the ghastly items! Guests will enjoy trying to guess what's really inside.
