What You Need
Assorted paper
Necktie (any old one will do)
Pencil
Scissors
Glue stick
Assorted stickers, colored markers, or crayons (optional)
Any other decorations that are meaningful to Dad
Photos
Cording or ribbon

What You Do

Step 1
Choose the paper you want to work with. Wrapping paper works well. Lay a regular necktie on top of the paper.

Step 2
Help kids trace around the edge of the front of the tie using a pencil. Now, cut the tie out from the paper. Be sure to cut about 1 inch around the outline of the tie.

Step 3
Kids can then fold the paper so it looks just like a necktie. Use the glue stick to hold the edges down.

Step 4
Now it's time to decorate! Use stickers, markers or crayons. If you will want to use a photo, make sure your kids leave room in the middle of the tie for it.

Step 5
Lay a 2- by 2-inch square of paper on your work surface. Place a piece of cording or ribbon across the middle of the paper. Fold the paper over the string and glue the sides of paper together. Then place the rectangle at the top of the tie and glue so that the tie can hang around Dad's neck. Or, hang it up as a decoration in Dad's office.
