What You Need
Brown construction paper
White construction paper
Scissors
Colored markers
Craft glue
Yellow pipe cleaners
Yellow kitchen sponge (3 1/2-in. by 6-in.)
2 large googly eyes (available at craft stores)

What You Do

Step 1
Cut a 1 1/2-inch by 9-inch strip of brown construction paper and another strip the same size of white construction paper. Glue the strips together so that 1 inch of the white strip shows behind the brown.

Step 2
Use a red marker to draw SpongeBob's tie in the center of the combined construction-paper strip. Use a black marker to draw his collar and belt.

Step 3
Help your child glue this combined strip around the bottom half of the sponge to create SpongeBob's clothes. (See the photo above for reference.)

Step 4
Cut two yellow pipe cleaners in half and poke the pieces into the sides and bottom to make SpongeBob's arms and legs. Use a dab of glue on each pipe cleaner to help keep it in place.

Step 5
Use colored markers to draw the mouth and nose. Glue on googly eyes for the perfect finishing touch.
