Give Dad a handy place to charge up his electronics. All you need is an empty crayon box, some colored foam sheets, our printable templates and two wiggly eyes.
Removable hanging strips (from local hardware store) or a hook for hanging
Prepare the crayon box
Open the top of the crayon box and cut off the top flap. Cut a U-shape in the front of the crayon box for an opening. Open the bottom of the box and snip out a piece to allow the charger's cord to run out of the bottom of the box. Reinforce the bottom of box with clear packing tape.
Print templates and create Plex
Cut out all of the Plex templates.
Using the template, trace all of the pieces as follows: the Plex head shape onto the yellow foam sheet; the face and cover pieces onto black; and the topper and ears onto the gray.
Cut out all of the pieces.
Glue the cover pieces onto the front, top and sides of the crayon box.
Assemble and glue Plex's head as shown.
Add the wiggly eyes.
Set up the charging station
You can hange the charging station on a wall near the outlet in one of two ways: Either poke a hole for a hook so it can be hung on the wall. Or, add removable hanging strips to the back and another to the wall.
Get charging!
Drop Dad’s phone, PDA, or MP3 player into the box. Slip the cord from the charger up through the bottom of the box, plugging it into the electronic. When the charger is not in use, keep the cord pulled up through the bottom of the box where it is easily accessible next time charging is necessary.
