Whether you're playing it in your backyard or at a local park, Blue's Clues Baseball is a great way to enjoy the outdoors. This game works best with a few players, but is just as much fun with one child.

What You Need
Blue's Baseball Printable Pack
Blue's Baseball Printable Base
Oversized bat
4 heavyweight paper plates
Glue stick
Oversized ball

What You Do

Step 1
Print Blue's Baseball Printable Pack and three copies of Blue's Baseball Printable Base. Use the glue stick to affix the bases and home plate to the heavyweight paper plates and arrange them in a diamond on your playing field.

Step 2
The parent (or an older sibling) plays the role of the Joe and keeps the clue sets in hand while pitching the ball to the players.

Step 3
Pitch the ball to your child. If she hits the ball, have her run to first base. If she has trouble hitting the ball, roll the ball so she can kick it. (You don't have to be a slugger to play Blue's version of baseball!)

Step 4
Ask the question that appears on the clue sets, (for example: "What Does Blue Want To Make?"), and then give a clue to the child on first base. If she figures it out, she rounds the bases and scores. If not, it's time for the next batter.

Step 5
When the next batter gets to first base, the lead runner advances to second base, and it's time for another clue. No one can figure out Blue's Clues? Then it's time for the next batter and the final clue.

Step 6
When the lead runner reaches third base, it's time for everyone to try to solve Blue's Clues. If someone solves it correctly, all of the runners advance to home plate and celebrate their victory with a rousing rendition of "We Just Figured Out Blue's Clues." You may need to present all of the clues again, as well as remind the kids of the question that ties the clues together. Gently help them toward the correct answer with additional clues, if needed.

Step 7
If you're playing only with one child, the rules are slightly different. Once he reaches first base, ask your child to figure out Blue's Clues based on the entire clue set. Once he solves it, it's on to the next base--and so on and so on, until he circles the bases and comes home. To extend the game, Blue's Baseball Printable Pack includes some blank clue sets so you can create your own clues.
