What You Need
Construction paper
Sticky tape
A thinking chair (a comfortable armchair)
A portable radio

What You Do

Step 1
Lightly tape sheets of construction paper on the floor in a circle and have each child take a seat on one.

Step 2
Set a large, comfortable chair outside the circle. (This is the Thinking Chair.)

Step 3
When the music starts, children skip around the circle. As they skip, remove one sheet of paper. (Watch your fingers!) When you stop the music, each child must sit down on a piece of paper.

Step 4
The child who can’t find a seat must leave the game but gets to sit in the Thinking Chair and to start and stop the music for the next round. Continue until all the children have had a chance to sit in the Thinking Chair.
