What You Need
Backyardigans Character Printables
Scissors
Pencil
Foam sheets or cardboard
Craft glue or glue stick
Hole puncher

What You Do

Step 1
Print out the Backyardigans characters and help kids cut out the shapes of the characters.

Step 2
Trace the shapes of the characters onto foam sheets or cardboard. Cut out the foam or cardboard.

Step 3
Help kids glue the characters to the foam or cardboard and allow to dry.

Step 4
Use a hole puncher to cut two holes at the bottoms of each character about 1 to 2 inches from the bottom. Using the puncher, punch around the circles to make the holes big enough for kids to poke their fingers through.

Step 5
Have kids stick their fingers through the two holes and have fun making the characters walk, run, and--of course--dance!

Step 6 (optional)
Make backdrops for a Backyardigans puppet show by gluing the color printouts from the Backyardigans Adventure Maker Activity Book to pieces of cardboard.
