Kids can make works of art by blowing colorful soap bubbles.
Newspapers
Large bowl
Food coloring
Dishwashing liquid
Drinking straws (one per child)
Colored markers
White paper
Step 1
Cover your work area with newspapers and write each child's name on a piece of paper.
Step 2
Fill the bowl with water and add five or six drops of one color of food coloring and a few drops of dishwashing liquid. Let each child take turns blowing bubbles in the water through the straw, carefully lay a piece of paper gently onto the bubbly surface, and lift the paper up again. (Be sure to remind kids not to sip through the straws.) If the bowl is not wide enough to fit a standard-size sheet of paper, trim the paper.
Step 3
Set the bubble prints aside to dry for a few minutes.
Step 4
Fill the bowl with a different color of soapy water and have kids add to their bubble prints. Kids can also embellish their artwork with the colored markers. This makes an easy and enjoyable party activity, and guests can take their bubble creations home when the party ends.
