What You Need
Paper Lantern Pattern & Handle printables
Colored construction paper (8 1/2- by 11-inch sheets)
Crayons or colored markers
Scissors
Sticky tape or glue stick
Ribbon or string

What You Do

Step 1
Print the paper lantern pattern and handle on colored construction paper and help your child color them and cut them out. Show your child how to fold the lantern pattern in half following the dotted line in the center and then cut along the six vertical dotted lines.

Step 2
Use sticky tape or a glue stick to secure the short sides of the lantern pattern together.

Step 3
Use sticky tape or a glue stick to attach each end of the handle to the lantern's top. Tie a ribbon or a piece of string to the handle to hang the lantern.
