What You Need
Small piece of stiff paper or cardboard
Red, white, black, bright and dark blue felt
Blue sock
Fabric glue
Scissors

What You Do

Cut and Glue
From the cardboard, cut a small oval for the mouth. Cut a piece of red felt in the same size and shape. Glue the red felt to the cardboard. When the glue is dry, fold the oval in half crossways.

"Dress" your sock
Apply glue to the back of the oval. Slip the sock over your child’s hand and have him or her use the toe to "bite" the oval with the end of the sock, holding it in place until it dry.

Put a face on your sock
From the white felt, cut out two round ovals for the eyes. From the black felt, cut two centers for the eyes. Glue the black centers to the white ovals. Let dry. From the dark blue felt, cut a nose and two floppy ears. From the bright blue felt, cut dots for the ears and face.

Finishing Touches
Glue on the eyes, nose, ears, and spots onto the puppet—and bark on!
