A group of highly-trained secret agent guinea pigs discover the fate of the world rests in their furry little paws.
This live-action adventure from Jerry Bruckheimer delivers--in 3-D--the loud, explosive scenes you’d expect from the man behind Top Gun and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End but, unfortunately, it does so at the expense of plot and humor. Sure, there are plenty of flatulence jokes for little kids to giggle at, but they're simply cheap laughs. The silly story is likely to appeal only to a small group of youngsters, while everyone else will feel like the pet store hamster who admits, "Sorry, I just tuned out there for a second."
This movie is intended for older children.
Although they'll think the guinea pigs are adorable, most preschoolers won't have the attention span to sit through the technical explanations and descriptions of the equipment being used by the villain to transform appliances into killing machines. Five-year-olds will get a kick out of the gas-passing Hurley, and will enjoy watching the G-Force do their own butt-kicking!
Kids in this age group will definitely be attracted by the promise of gadgets, gizmos, and guinea pigs in 3-D. They'll laugh when Juarez complains that she "can't get this guy off my tail," only to be reminded, "You don't have a tail," and when the always-positive Darwin says, "Hey, I'm nine inches tall. I only see the upside." They'll be intrigued by the idea of animals being used to discover and deliver strategic intelligence, and they'll think it's funny that one of them is obsessed with layer cake!
Most tweens will think the idea of guinea pig super agents is too babyish for them. Although they're correct, it is a shame since they're probably the only ones who will understand the big joke about Speckles, the mole.
The combo pack comes with Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray and DVD versions of the movie. The Blu-ray includes deleted scenes, music videos, bloopers and behind-the-scenes segments.
