Paleontologist Dr. Rick Marshall (Will Ferrell) creates a machine that takes him to a parallel universe of dinosaurs and other fantastic creatures.
Dinosaurs have always been some of children’s favorite characters--and so has Will Ferrell!--so the movie's sexist remarks and actions seem particularly out of place and offensive. Sure, tweens may find them funny, especially when a primitive ape-man continually grabs and holds on to a woman's breasts, but they're inappropriate for the young audience to whom the movie is being marketed. Consider bringing the family to another theater, and letting this movie get lost among the higher-quality summer blockbusters.

Although tweens (and younger kids) will enjoy much of the dinosaur action, it's not worth enduring lines the moviemakers could have--and should have--resisted, like when Marshall and another man enjoy touching the vibrating walls of a pyramid and agree that their female colleague "should sit on it."
