Age-By-Age Guide
Classic | Musical
When siblings Jane and Michael Banks put in a request for a new nanny, the "practically perfect" Mary Poppins (Julie Andrews) mysteriously flies in with a magical carpetbag full of tricks for turning every chore into a game and making every day a holiday.

This beloved Disney classic based on P.L. Travers' popular children's stories won five Academy Awards and is as delightful now as it was almost half a century ago! Every generation of children has learned the meaning of "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" and wished they had a nanny as special as Mary Poppins--and today's kids will be no exception. With an entire second disc devoted to bonus material, this Special Edition deserves to become a treasured part of every family's collection.
Baby (0-2)
Maybe With a running time of more than two hours, the movie is way too long for very young babies. Two-year-olds will be as wide-eyed as Jane and Michael themselves as Mary pulls an unlikely variety of objects from her bag and gets their messy room clean with a couple of snaps of her fingers.
Preschool (3-5)
Yes Preschoolers will be smitten with Mary, and will wish their own caregivers could take them on such exciting outings to the park, where they jump inside the chalk sidewalk paintings and march across the rooftops, led by a chimney sweep. They'll quickly learn the words of every song, and will live vicariously through Jane and Michael's tea party on the ceiling and their day at the races astride a group of merry-go-round horses.
Kids (6-9)
Yes Older kids have probably outgrown Mary Poppins, but may be nostalgic to revisit her every once in a while. They'll realize the value of trying to find "an element of fun" in "every job that must be done," and, more importantly, the fact that you can have the most magical times of all simply flying a kite with your own parents.
Tweens (10-12)
No This movie is intended for younger children.
