Twelve of Pixar's animated short films--including three Academy Award nominees--are featured in this innovative collection.
Nobody does animation like Pixar, and it is simply a joy to watch each of these short films. There's something here for everyone; younger viewers will enjoy seeing their favorite characters from Pixar's hit movies, and older ones will appreciate the beauty and creativity of the more sophisticated offerings. As this collection proves without a doubt, short films can be as powerful as features.
This DVD is intended for older children.
This DVD is intended for older children.
Younger children may get bored watching the whole DVD straight through but will be interested in specific ones, particularly the "Car"-toons and those starring the characters from Toy Story. Older kids will also get a kick out of the two shorts inspired by Up, especially "Dug's Special Mission," which features the delightful dog.
Although tweens will still be glad to watch the movie-related shorts, they may be more intrigued by the original short films like "Presto," in which a rabbit shows his magician just who's pulling the strings, and "Partly Cloudy," which depicts clouds who create the babies for storks to deliver. They'll be fascinated by the facts they learn in "Your Friend the Rat," and may tell you more about rodents than you ever wanted to know! They'll also happily re-watch the stunningly beautiful "Day & Night" and "La Luna," both of which they've probably seen in the theater before recent Pixar releases.
The combo pack comes with Blu-ray and DVD versions of the movie. Both include seven student films from directors John Lasseter, Andrew Stanton and Pete Docter.
