		Private eye Basil of Baker Street is determined to track down evil Professor Ratigan, who has kidnapped London's master toymaker and is set on becoming the supreme ruler of all Mousedom. Widely regarded as Disney's most underrated animated classic, this little gem is smart and sophisticated and will appeal to a variety of age groups including parents! A Sherlock Holmes for the sandbox set, Basil is tenacious and oh-so-clever. With his propensity for problem-solving and his belief that "there's always a chance as long as one can think," he is truly a mouse worthy of the Disney name.


	There's too much cartoon violence for most babies, who will be frightened when little Olivia's father is kidnapped and when a bat later nabs Olivia. Two-year-olds will be enthralled by the story and will follow Basil's every move as he looks for clues. They'll especially like Toby the bloodhound, who is easily distracted from his sniffing job by belly rubs and cheese crumpets!

Preschoolers will be fascinated by this mystery and will learn a great deal about problem-solving by watching Basil's thought process. They'll think it's hilarious that, despite his brains, he can never pronounce Olivia's last name--Flaversham--correctly, resorting to saying "whatever" instead! Young children will find themselves singing the catchy "Ratigan--the world's greatest criminal mind," song over and over again and will understand that calling him a "rat" is the ultimate insult.


	The movie may appeal to a surprising number of kids in this age group, who will recognize many of the Sherlock Holmes references--"it's elementary, my dear Dawson," says Basil to his trusted sidekick--and will enjoy the climactic scene inside London's Big Ben.


	This DVD is intended for younger children.

		The combo pack comes with Blu-ray and DVD versions of the film. Both formats include a segment about the making of the movie, a sing-along song and a "So You Think You Can Sleutch" game.
