Age-By-Age Guide
Action Adventure | Comedy
Two cavemen (Jack Black and Michael Cera) set off on an epic journey when they're banished from their village.

Sure, Jack Black is a Kids' Choice Awards favorite but this movie, despite its marketing, should not be a choice for kids. How it beat an R rating is a mystery--it's got a number of words you'd probably rather your children didn't hear, it jokes incessantly about circumcision and virgin sacrifice, and it attempts the most disgusting toilet humor for cheap laughs. Of our four age groups, the movie may be best for tweens but it's really not good for any of them.

Tweens (10-12)
Maybe The movie is so crude (it is co-produced by Judd Apatow, after all), it's really not appropriate for most tweens. Twelve-year-olds will find much of it a riot, especially the physical humor which will delight them in its grossness. With all the sexual talk and profanity, they'll feel like they've gotten away with something just by seeing the movie.
