Here's an easy craft you and your preschooler can make together. Your child can use it as a music maker or give it to the new baby in you house as a rattle. Film container
Beans, seeds, rice, paper clips, or other noisy objects
Duct tape or glue
Contact paper
Small paintbrushes
Non-toxic paint

Step 1
Find a film container that your infant will be able to grasp.
Step 2
Clean the container out thoroughly with soap and hot water.
Step 3
Let your child fill the container with different objects that make noise: beans, seeds, rice, or paper clips. Try different objects to experiment with the different sounds the various objects produce.
Step 4
Put the lid on securely. You can use some duct tape or glue to ensure the top does not come off. This is a job for you.
Step 5
Let your child decorate the rattle with colorful contact paper, non-toxic paints, or stickers.
