Smoothies--whether the adult or baby version--are basically a mixture of fresh or frozen fruit and juice or water. You can start making smoothies once your baby has already tried each of the ingredients you plan to use. Certain foods carry the risk of allergic reactions, so wait until your baby is 12 months old before adding yogurt, milk, ice cream, orange juice, or strawberries.

Basic Smoothie Instructions:
1. Put the fruit into a blender first.
2. Add any liquid in the recipe.
3. Then add yogurt or ice cream, if it's in the recipe.
4. Blend the ingredients until they are smooth.
5. If you like, you can store the finished smoothies in ice cube trays from your freezer; just pop them out and thaw them in the fridge before serving.
