Baby Fruit Smoothies

Smoothies--whether the adult or baby version--are basically a mixture of fresh or frozen fruit and juice or water. You can start making smoothies once your baby has already tried each of the ingredients you plan to use. Certain foods carry the risk of allergic reactions, so wait until your baby is 12 months old before adding yogurt, milk, ice cream, orange juice, or strawberries.

Start Cooking

Basic Smoothie Instructions:
1. Put the fruit into a blender first.
2. Add any liquid in the recipe.
3. Then add yogurt or ice cream, if it's in the recipe.
4. Blend the ingredients until they are smooth.
5. If you like, you can store the finished smoothies in ice cube trays from your freezer; just pop them out and thaw them in the fridge before serving.

Baby's First Smoothie (7-9 months)
1/2 banana
1/2 cup formula or breast milk
1/4 cup apple juice



Purple Peachy Smoothie
1 cup plum pureé (see our Fruit Puree Basics)
6 frozen peach slices
1/2 cup apple juice



Banana Smoothie (12 months and older)
1 frozen banana, sliced up
1/2 cup plain yogurt
1/2 cup apple juice



Banana and Apricot Smoothie (12 months)
1 frozen banana, sliced up
1 cup apricot nectar
1 cup plain yogurt



Peaches and Cream Smoothie (12 months)
6 frozen peach slices
1 cup peach yogurt
1/2 cup milk
1 cup apple juice



Good Morning Smoothie (12 months and older)
1 peeled seedless orange, sectioned
1 frozen banana sliced
1/2 cup orange juice
1 cup vanilla yogurt



Fresh Melon Smoothie (12 months and older)
1 cup cantaloupe, diced
1 cup honey dew melon, diced
1 cup vanilla frozen yogurt
1/2 cup orange juice



Banana Berry Smoothie (12 months and older)
1 frozen banana, sliced
1/2 cup frozen raspberries
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1/2 cup vanilla yogurt
1/2 cup orange juice



Orange Cream Smoothie (12 months and older)
1 orange, peeled, seeded, diced
1 cup vanilla ice cream
1 cup orange juice



Strawberry Banana Smoothie (12 months and older)
1 frozen banana, sliced
6 large strawberries (fresh or frozen)
1 cup vanilla frozen yogurt



Strawberry, Peacn & Mango Smoothie (12 months and older)
6 frozen-peach slices
1 mango, peeled and diced
6 strawberries (fresh or frozen)
1 cup peach-flavored frozen yogurt
