Bath-Time Bubble Juice

What You Need
2 tbsp. dishwashing soap (such as Joy)
2 cups water
Plastic bowl
Bubble wands (from toy stores)
Plastic cookie cutters
Slotted spoon
Straws

What You Do

Step 1
Mix the dishwashing soap and water in a plastic bowl. (For longer-lasting bubbles, make the bubble solution the night before and leave the bowl uncovered.)

Step 2
Try a variety of bubble-blowing tools such as commercially available bubble wands, plastic cookie cutters, slotted spoons, and straws. You can tape several straws together for even more bubble with each blow or cut three slits in the end of a straw and splay the ends out to make bigger bubbles.

Step 3
Talk to your child about the bubbles. How long do the bubbles last? Do the small bubbles or large bubbles last longer? Point out the rainbow colors inside, and how the bubbles change shape as you blow them. Notice how they pop when they touch something dry and don't pop when they touch something wet. Older kids can catch the bubbles on their wands and blow bubbles on top of bubbles.
