Step 1
Make blueberry gelatin according to the box instructions and refrigerate.
Step 2
Line a 10-inch round cake pan with plastic wrap, making sure to leave about three inches hanging over the sides.
Step 3
Slice the pound cake into 1/8-inch slices and line the bottom and sides of the pan with cake.
Step 4
Scoop out the strawberry ice cream and evenly press it into the pan. The pan should be half full. Place the cake pan in the freezer to allow the strawberry ice cream to harden.
Step 5
Scoop the vanilla ice cream on top of the strawberry ice cream and press down with a large spoon, making it level with top of the pan.
Step 6
Line the top of the ice cream with pound-cake slices to completely cover the ice cream layer. Wrap the top with plastic wrap and freeze overnight to set the cake.
Step 7
To unmold the cake, dip the pan into a bowl of hot water, then turn the cake out onto a plate, and remove the plastic wrap. Place the cake in the freezer for a few minutes to firm it up.
Step 8
Tint the coconut green by mixing it with about ten drops of green food color.
Step 9
Prepare the Simple Frosting and evenly frost the top and sides of the cake.
Step 10
On a plate slightly larger than the cake, spread a thin layer of frosting around the perimeter of plate. Using a large spatula, place the cake in the center of the plate, and then place the green coconut all around base of the cake.
Step 11
With the writing gels, make swirls around the sides of the cake. Place marshmallows around the top perimeter of the cake to make the pool's sides.
Step 12
Scoop the blue gelatin on top of the cake (within the marshmallow "pool").
Step 13
Place the Blue and Magenta toys in the pool and put a few jelly rings around to look like swimming tubes.
Step 14
Make a beach ball by cutting out a thin piece of fruit rollups and stick it onto the gum ball. Then place the beach ball on top of cake with Blue and Magenta.
