1 tube each (4.25 oz.) red and brown decorator icing
Assorted decorations, such as Necco wafers, M&M's (mini and regular), Runts, fruit leather, fruit slices, cashews, chow mein noodles, licorice laces, cold cereal
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Step 2
Prepare the cake mix according to package directions. Spoon the batter into 24 muffin cups lined with paper liners. Bake 15 to 20 minutes until golden, or until a toothpick inserted in center of cupcakes comes out clean. Transfer cupcakes to a wire rack to cool completely.
Step 3
Spoon 1/4 cup of vanilla frosting into a resealable plastic bag. Snip a small corner off the bag and set it aside.
Step 4
Tint the remaining frosting any colors you desire to use for faces. Spread over the tops of the cupcakes.
Step 5
Using decorator icing, assorted candy, fruit, cereal, and nut decorations, and remaining white frosting, make silly faces on each cake. Serve with a smile!
