Muno Cupcakes


Servings: Makes 12 cupcakes

Ingredients
12 strips red taffy, (Air Heads)
1 black licorice twist, (Twizzlers)
1 can (16 oz.) vanilla frosting
60 red hots or red candy coated chocolates, (mini M&M's)
12 brown candy-coated mini-round chocolates, (mini M&M's)

Start Cooking

Step 1
Before you start to decorate make a batch of Vanilla Cupcakes or Chocolate Cupcakes, or you can make an assortment of both basic cupcake recipes.



Step 2
Cut each piece of red fruit taffy in half crosswise. Heat each piece in the microwave for no more than 3 seconds to soften slightly. Roll out the taffy on a clean work surface into a 1 1/2- by 2 1/2-inch rectangle. Round one short end with clean scissors to make Muno's head. Cut the black licorice into twelve 1-inch strips for the mouth.



Step 3
Spoon 1/3 cup vanilla frosting into a small resealable bag. Spread the remaining frosting on top of the cupcakes and make smooth. Place the red taffy on top of the cupcakes. Add five red candies around head. Snip a small corner from the bag with the vanilla frosting and pipe a 3/4-inch circle on the top center. Add the brown candy as the pupil. Add the black licorice as the mouth and pipe a few white teeth with the frosting.
