Now Dora's best friend has his own cake too. Bake Boots' cake together--there's lots for your child to do!
Explore with Dora every day on Nick & Nick Jr.
Place the cake on a clean work surface. Use the template to cut out the head shape and discard scraps. You can store the scraps in a plastic resealable bag to save for a tasty treat later. Transfer the cake to a serving platter or board covered with foil.
Spoon 2 teaspoons of the vanilla frosting into a small plastic resealable bag. Tint 1 cup of the vanilla frosting a violet pink by mixing some of the red food coloring with 1 drop of blue food coloring. Tint the remaining vanilla frosting a light blue-violet color by mixing the blue and neon purple food coloring together. Spoon each colored frosting and the chocolate frosting into separate plastic resealable bags.
To make the eyes, take 2 Oreo cookies and separate them, exposing the cream. Stack the remaining 4 cookies in 2 stacks and arrange next to the cake to make the ears. Cut one cream-filled snack cake (1 Twinkie) in half on the diagonal to make the hairs on top of the cake. Trim a small piece on the diagonal from the remaining snack cake for the center piece. Arrange all three snack cake pieces at the top of the cake (see photo).
Snip small corners from the small plastic resealable bags containing the blue and pink frosting. Pipe the frosting on the top and sides of the cake, cookies and snack cakes using the template as a guide. Spread frosting with an offset spatula or small knife and make smooth.
Press 2 of the pink fruit chews together. Flatten all of the fruit chews and cut out the tongue and ear shapes using the template. Press the red spice drops together and roll them out in the sugar--large enough for the mouth template. Cut out the mouth shape.
Arrange the candy and cookie pieces on top of the cake for the eyes, mouth and ears as seen in the photo. Add the chocolate mints to make the pupils. Snip a very small corner from the bags containing the chocolate and vanilla frosting. Pipe and outline around the mouth with the chocolate frosting. Pipe small white dots with the vanilla frosting to make the sparkle in the eye.
