On a mission for an umirrific cake? It's Bot to the rescue!
All new math-minded missions starting 2/4 @ 9:30am
Cut the round cake in half crosswise to make two semicircles. Cut a 1-inch-thick slice from one edge of the square cake. With the cut edge facing you, trim a 1 1/2-inch wedge, from top to bottom, on either side of the square cake.
Arrange the round cake, cut edge facing you, on a large serving platter. Place the wide edge of the square cake against the cut edge of round cake. Save the 1-inch strip of cake to be added later.
Spoon 3/4 cup of the vanilla frosting into a plastic resealable bag. Tint 1/2 cup of the vanilla frosting neon blue with the food coloring and spoon into a plastic resealable bag. Tint 1/2 cup vanilla frosting bright yellow with the food coloring. Spoon the yellow frosting into a pastry bag fitted with a large plain round tip. Tint the remaining vanilla frosting bright green.
Stack the cookies on top of each other, securing with a dot of green frosting. Spread some of the green frosting on top of the top cookie. Spread the remaining green frosting on top of the cake. Use a toothpick to make a tapered square on top of the square cake, about 1 1/2 inches from the edge.
Snip a small 1/4-inch corner from the bag with the vanilla frosting. Pipe along the lines in the frosting. Heat the remaining plastic bag (cut corner up) of vanilla frosting in the microwave for 3 seconds. Massage the bag and continue heating for a few seconds at a time until slightly thinned. Squeeze the blue frosting into the white piped outline and make smooth.
Insert a pretzel stick into the flat side and another side of the orange spice drop. Insert the pretzel on the rounded side of the spice drop into the cake edge to the right side as his antennae. Add the stack of frosted cookies next to the pretzel stick. Snip a small corner from the bag with the blue frosting and pipe a line on top of the pretzel stick and the blue decorations on top of the cookie. Add the yellow candy. Spread the remaining blue frosting on top of the cake strip and transfer to the top of the green frosted cake below the round cake. Pipe Bot's mouth with the black frosting on top of the blue cake. Add the black jelly beans as Bot's eyes.
Pipe the yellow frosting outline around the white frosting square. Add the blue candies to the four yellow-frosted corners.
