Butter Cookie Dough

Make delicious holiday cookies using this buttery batch of cookie dough.

Ingredients

• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 tsp. baking powder
• 1 tsp. salt
• 2/3 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
• 1/2 cup sugar
• 1 egg
• 1 tbsp. milk
• 1 tsp. vanilla extract

Directions

1. Step 1

   Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt together into a bowl. Set the bowl aside.

2. Step 2

   Put the butter and sugar in a mixing bowl. Using an electric mixer, beat at medium speed until creamy, for about three minutes.

3. Step 3

   Add the egg, milk, and vanilla and beat for one more minute. Reduce the mixer speed to low and add the flour mixture, beating until smooth. Turn off the mixer.

4. Step 4

   Shape the dough into a ball. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for at least an hour, or for up to three days. You can freeze it for up to three months.
