Challah French Toast

Fabulous, fluffy French toast served with fruit--ooh la la!

Ingredients

• 2 large eggs
• 2 tbsp. milk
• 1/8 tsp. cinnamon, plus more for garnish
• 4 slices (1 in. thick) challah bread
• 2 tsp. vegetable oil
• 2 tsp. butter
• Sliced bananas and fresh berries

Directions

1. Step 1

   Beat the eggs, milk, and cinnamon in a large bowl until well blended.

2. Step 2

   Add the bread slices to the egg mixture, turning to coat well. Keep the bread in the bowl while heating the oil and butter.

3. Step 3

   Heat 1 teaspoon of oil and 1 teaspoon of butter in a large nonstick skillet pan over medium heat until the butter is melted and bubbly. Add two slices of the bread and cook until golden brown, about 2 minutes. Turn the slices over and continue cooking until golden, about 2 minutes longer. Transfer the slices to a serving plate. Repeat with the remaining bread slices and oil and butter.

4. Step 4

   Serve the warm French toast with fresh fruit and dust the top with additional cinnamon if desired.
